Materials & Responsible Manufacturing

At Inhabit, responsible manufacturing is part of how we design and make our products. We focus on durable materials, made-to-order production and practical choices that reduce unnecessary waste while creating distinctive wall products for commercial and residential spaces.

Recycled PET Acoustic Felt

Harmony acoustic felt products are made with at least 65% recycled PET. This transforms recycled plastic into a durable acoustic material that helps reduce echo and improve comfort in workplaces, hospitality spaces, public environments and homes.

Made in Indiana

All Harmony acoustic felt products are made in Indiana. Manufacturing locally allows us to oversee quality, accommodate custom project needs and produce most products to order, limiting excess inventory and unnecessary production. We also repurpose felt scraps generated during fabrication as protective packing material when shipping our products, giving production offcuts another useful purpose.

Supporting Renewable Energy

Inhabit participates in our local power cooperative’s Green Power Initiative, supporting electricity generated from renewable sources.

Where It Started

Our exploration of more responsible materials began with Wall Flats, Inhabit’s first three-dimensional wall product. Wall Flats are made from bagasse, a fibrous byproduct of sugarcane processing. That early product helped establish an approach that continues today: considering not only how a product looks and performs, but also the materials and manufacturing decisions behind it.
