PET Felt is made of recycled plastic, mostly plastic bottles. The collected plastic is first cleaned, then finely ground and processed into a fiber. From these fibers are made mats, which are then felted. That felt is heated and pressed into a panel. From these panels, you can make any type of product.
Since PET Felt is made of plastic bottles, it has the following properties:
- Easy to process
- Easily recyclable after being used
All of our Harmony PET Felt products have a ASTM-E84 Class A Fire rating.
PET Felt is incredibly versatile, flexible, and safe. It’s lightweight and easy to process. There are no dangerous emissions coming out of the material. PET Felt also has a Class A Fire rating, meaning that it is difficult to be set on fire.
Any space needs good acoustics — restaurants, hotels, (home) offices, meeting rooms, etc. Having a wall and/or ceiling, which absorbs sounds, can improve everyone’s experience and well-being. You can theoretically install Harmony PET Felt on any wall and some ceiling surfaces.
Since PET Felt is made of recycled plastic bottles, it can withstand a lot. PET Felt is also impact resistant. However, the material should still be handled with care, so do not place it somewhere humid or dirty, as this will make it wear out quickly.
Our Harmony Felt products are made to absorb and dampen sound so that its reflections within a space can be significantly reduced. However, PET Felt cannot fully block sound.
Inhabit Harmony Felt products are designed for sound absorption, attenuation and diffusion. Inhabit Harmony Felt Panels will not create a perfectly sealed acoustic environment. Harmony Felt products can be used to reduce echo, improve sound intelligibility and reduce the volume in a space effectively.
